If I was a betting man, and I am, I would put my chips on them not removing à la carte purchasing from any of the books that already have it, but that moving forward the newer books won’t get it anymore.
They've explicitly said that they're not removing piecemeal sales for past and present products (excluding BoMT, which they've not commented on beyond acknowledging what that it's not currently there), which I believe them that they're not going to do that.
I'm more concerned about the future. I think, on the balance of probability, they won't be changing the model. Personally, I think they removed it either as an experiment to see where the balance of profits lie, or because they've screwed something up somewhere and playing their usual taciturn game. They know previous books aren't on the line, but they don't want to commit because it does seem like the left hand often doesn't know what the right hand is doing a lot of the time.
On the whole, I think we'll see them back. But while a couple of hundred bucks isn't bank breaking for us... it's enough at this juncture that I'm not willing to spend it on a gamble when there is still a question mark there on a critical point and the balance of probability isn't good enough for me to commit. I can wait til next year when it'll be more clear what's actually happening. The timing is a little frustrating for me - if this were happening around the time that Planescape released, then I could have known what I'd be buying into with this sale.

I genuinely hope they don't remove piecemeal / à la carte purchases. I don't use them myself, but I definitely have friends who did, e.g. the Spelljammer races.

I do not use them either, but TBoMT would have been the first. I would like to play around with the cartomancer feat. The rest of the book doesn't do much for me, but neither did the deck of many things.

CENSORSHIP IS THE TOOL OF COWARDS and WANNA BE TYRANTS.
I'm getting to the stage where entire books aren't of great use to me (except like Fizban's), so being able to own an interesting race or subclass etc for $2 rather than paying $30+ for the book is getting more and more attractive, it's part of why I was coming round to DDB.

It is getting to that point for me, I generally buy the whole book, but as 5e ages I just need a few parts of the book(s) to get what I want from recent content.
Literally the main thing about DNDBeyond that made it appealing was being able to pay a little bit for the stuff my players need on their sheets. If that goes away, so does my subscription, and we go back to pen and paper.
It's still on the old products, it's the recent releases. That's where there uncertainty is. All but one of the recent releases have been third party, which may not be convenient to have the piecemeal options available for a variety of reasons. The one book that was official also had a strong physical component. On the other hand, I doubt that every potential piecemeal option was reliant on having a physical component, which combined with the official communication conspicuously avoiding mention of future releases, is concerning that they might be getting rid of it. The next official product release is, I believe, Vecna, which is in May. We'll find out then what's happening, I suspect.

It's...murky. it's possible that it was true at the time, they are blended to keep it and then minds were changed.
On the other hand, it very much seems like this was the plan since before then, hence the lack of options even then. The changes being put in place now don't happen over night either. So it's possible there wasn't a lie...but that's stretch in my view, I'm not inclined to be overly charitable with them, given their behaviour.

i am mostly a player and don't really dm, so i used the al la carte purchasing quite a bit, it not being an option for the new books feels like a corporate money grab... most of the time i just want 2-3 things from a book bc most of the time player options are very scarce in the books... thats like 4-6 bux compared to almost 40 if i have to buy the entire book, this isnt fair for players... the previoous model was much better, bring back al la carte purchasing
I complained and got the response below. They have removed the option to buy individual parts of books. Everyone please complain and let them know exactly how you feel about that decision!

That sucks! All I want to purchase is the BOOK, "Book of Many Things!" I do NOT need the extra stuff, as I already HAVE two copies of the Deck of Many Things!!!!
BOOOOOO, this change sucks [censored]; I don't want to buy an entire book full of stuff I don't really care about/won't use just for a single item, spell or background that I do care about.
Looks like WotC will be getting even less money from me going forward because I used to pick up single items from books all the time.

A la carte options are gone on every book now it seems. That seriously reduces the sites appeal for me.
