Since you didn't mention it, I'm assuming you're talking about the D&D Beyond converter to Fantasy Grounds. (Solely on the fact that the error you're seeing is obviously my code)
If you know how to access the developer tools, the console output may provide some more information.
Also, does your character sheet have any customizations? If yes, that's the problem right there.
If at all possible, can you IM me the character # so that I can troubleshoot the problem.
As to PDF, that version is obsolete.
One more thing. You'll get a faster response if you post Fantasy Grounds questions to their forums.
Hope this isn't an obvious question. When I as the DM import a character in my campaign from DnD Beyond to Roll20 it imports as a handout instead of as a character. Is it supposed to do this and if so what do I need to do to make it a character and give control over to my player(s)? (I'm using the 5e OGL sheet with only your script and the 5e OGL Companion script running in my game.) Thanks for this terrific script by the way and all of the work you guys have done so far!
ok im having trouble importing my character into my current campaign on roll20. i have put the api script into my game and it has uploaded with any issues but but i put the part into chat it doesnt make a character sheet. what am i doing wrong?
i cant seem to bring up anything on dndbeyond except an error page when i add the /json at the end of the address. so i can even copy it over to roll20. am I missing something obvious?
Nope. You're not missing anything. No one can get at the json anymore. The feature has been disabled (or rather, the site now seems to think you're a bot if you ask for it).

wonderful. Ok thank you for letting me know I'm not crazy on this.
It's 6 or so pages long and no comments yet by any red-shirts so, either... they are scrambling with legal trying to come up with a response that won't get them into trouble... or they just don't care.

Consult legal?!! What would possibly get them into trouble???
They have said since the day someone announced finding it that it was NOT for public use and would likely change or go away. (I know, I was in all of those discussions because I had been playing around with it for a couple days at that point but didn't post about it because it was obviously intended for internal use and wouldn't be stable.)
It was never intended as a public API and they said so over and over and over and over again (and there's plenty more times as well, but you get the point).
Sure, it was handy to leverage it and it would be nice to have something in that place. That makes sense. But going so far as thinking there's anything involving legal and trying to avoid getting themselves into trouble is ludicrous!
Edit to Add: Actually re-reading those threads, I was misremembering. *I* was the one who first mentioned finding the JSON character data. I thought I kept quiet about it until someone else spoke up first. Guess I didn't. Whoops! Sorry, everyone, guess it's my fault! ;) (Just kidding, of course. Others would have easily found it as well and many who were working with it probably independently did.)
I see this thread is crazy old but I don't seem to be able to find any more current info on this. I'm an old (read geriatric) D&D player and I've just started to get into the VTT/Digital stuff. I would love to be able to import characters from Beyond to Roll20. Has this been abandoned? Is there any solution on the horizon?

Thanks,
Sorry if you are already familiar with it, but our group has had great luck with using the "Beyond 20" web browser extension for Chrome or Firefox rather than importing characters. With that it adds extra buttons to the D&D Beyond character sheet, so that you can have that open in one browser tab and Roll20 open in the other browser tab. Then when you click on something in the D&D Beyond character sheet, it sends the roll over to Roll20.
Since D&D Beyond's character sheet is vastly easier to use & update than Roll20's (in our opinion at least), it seems to be a best of both worlds. We can use the Roll20 VTT for maps, rolls, etc., but maintain the characters in D&D Beyond. As a DM, I even use it for all monsters & NPCs. They work very well together and make both D&D Beyond and Roll20 far better products because of it! (And, no, I'm not paid to say that. I just really, really like and support this effort since it has made our games much easier to run!)
Now, since it does rely on a separate person writing the code for the browser extension (KaKaRoTo) who doesn't work at D&D Beyond, there are times that changes to the character sheet cause issues, but Beyond 20 extension is usually updated pretty fast to fix them. It really works wonders and is soooooo much easier than importing the character into the Roll20 character sheet, especially if you do that every time you level.

One last thought, the URL has changed, my apologies: http://ai6k.com/dndbeyond/

Just want to say thank you for this. Just started a new CoS with some internet friends and this script came in clutch.
Which script? FG or Roll20?
Maybe I should start my own thread, sorry.
Dave
I used the Roll20 Script.

There's a whole long discussion in the DDB Feedback forum here:

With the FG converter gone, is there any resource that we can use to import DnD Beyond characters into FG?
All my code for the converter is on Github:
https://github.com/BoomerET/DandD_Beyond-2-FantasyGrounds
Use WAMP or Apache on you local machine.
Thanks Boomer. I have no idea how to use this though. lol. Off to Google I go. (Somewhat literate with HTML, not versed in JS.)
Good luck.
Has anyone used this recently? When I try to append the /json to my character page I get a File not found error from DnDBeyond.
