About to start DMing a campaign for 3 people (one of them brand new), and was curious what campaign should I run before this? I was thinking the shattered obelisk but unsure how to connect due to ending at level 12 and Eve starts at level 10ish. Any advice in ehat campaign or how to connect the 2 would be great. I jave access to all of the official books if that helps.
A couple of levels don't matter too much. I'm going to run it with characters that did DoIP and its sequels, so level 13. A couple of easy levels, but then they'll get caught up. If you want to do TSO, just go ahead and do it.
If you really want to stick to the right number of levels, then you're left with Curse of Strahd, which could be thematically appropriate. If you don't mind being a level out, then Storm King's Thunder or Tomb of Annihilation - both go to L11. Never played ToA, but SKT is not very thematically matching. Otherwise, you're looking at anthologies. They're fine for cannibalising the odd quest from or for one shots, but their inherently incoherent nature makes them challenging to run in a good manner.
In short, TSO will do fine if you want to play that. Otherwise, CoS. Beyond that, the options get less and less optimal.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I'm currently running CoS and plan to go right into Vecna: Eve of Ruin afterwards (if my players stick around that long - I can only play maybe 15 or so times a year it seems).

-If you have the misfortune of coming across a dwarf named Morag, a half-elf that goes by Nichalaus, or their human travelling companions Sukiem-Tor, Ak'huma, Dat'Vi Bek and Doc Ryder, immediately start walking back from whence you came. You'll thank me later.
I ran DoIP for a group and then sent them into Curse of Strahd at lvl 6. I plan to let them level up to 11 after they kill Strahd and then go into Eve of Ruin. On a side note i feel like starting CoS on a higher level feels great! Death house didn't sound that fun to me and I feel like having a lvl 3 party running around Barovia would be scary as hell 🤣
I haven't really looked at it as far as load balancing goes, but if you only have 3 players, you might want them to be a level or two higher starting out, since EoR is designed for 4 to 6 players.
