Honestly, don't try for full Vampire; the MM entry is built to fight a party of 3rd tier PCs, so for most of the game it's going to be seriously overpowered as a player option. And, at the same time the weaknesses are enough to be a headache for a player as well. Your best bet is probably to use the Dhampir lineage from Van Richten's and maybe add a few tweaks if it's not feeling vampy enough for you.
What was said about a Vampire as presented in the MM being sort of out of balance with all but a significantly how power party build. Plus rouge is not going to conceal the fact that the PC is in fact an undead horror. Makeup is just not that good.

I am campaigning with a DM, letting me play a vampire rouge. Does anyone have any tips on making one or playing one?
Good for you, but is he/she allowing you to be a full vampire or a Spawn? Do you keep the weaknesses? If so then you can only meet with your party at night and can never cross any streams or rivers.
I would think you play a spawn, since that would be so OP at 1st level. Then again, I guess he/she could give you your full Vampire powers in tiers, instead of all at once. 🤔
I am playing a full vampire, as level 10 though. The rest of my party is also quite powerful (we have an Erinyes, an adult Silver Dragon, etc.) He also said he would remove some weaknesses, and the Erinyes has telepathy. Does that change anything?

I see what you did there. :)

It means you’re going so far beyond typical play that it’s pretty hard to give any advice.
