Yo! is mounted combat any good on drakewarden? It sounds good but the dex save stuff doesnt say it effects you and iv heard that in the rules if you are mounted the mounted creature cant attack. moving the attack to you can be nice if your AC is higher so you maybe able to dodge it but the drake has a great AC alot of the time so its eh.
It's okay. Since a Drakewarden's Drake Companion is only Medium size at 7th level (when it starts being able to be used as a mount) and doesn't hit Large until 15th level, you're not likely to get the first effect of Mounted Combat very often. The Drake's AC is decent but the ranger's will likely be better most of the time so the second ability is useful, and the third is always going to be good.
As far as mounts attacking goes, whoever told you that a mount wasn't allowed to attack while it was being ridden was wrong. Mounts absolutely can attack, but the Drake Companion is still limited to only taking the Dodge action unless you use a bonus action to give it an order.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

what feats would you recommend? i have sharp shooter also give of the metallic dragon for the flavor of the wings and the healing spell is nice 6th level btw lol vhuman
Mounted rules are a bit messed up and usually, if you are mounted, you cannot have them make an attack - there are two ways of resolving it, a controlled mount cannot attack and while an independent mount can attack, you can't make it do so.
Drakewarden's features override this allow you to direct the drake to attack.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Now I have some time, I can answer the feats part of the question. Sharpshooter is the one that I went for, it's awesome with a Dex build. Others to consider are:
Alert, so you have a better chance of mounting your Drake and using it's flying ability to put yourself out of melee range quickly.
Mobile, so you can swoop in, do an attack, then swoop out again without an Attack of Opportunity. DM probably wouldn't allow you to have the Drake's attack count (but might, so ask), so it's only really good if you have a melee weapon build (probably not since you have Sharpshooter), and the DM might rule that the Drake triggers it anyway, but worth mentioning.
Mounted Combatant, for Advantage on melee attacks against many creatures, 0 damage on a successful save and half damage on a fail if affected by a Dex Save.
Piercer for your archery damage (can reroll damage dice, better crits). If you change to melee, then there's slasher or crusher as well.
When you're flying, Telepathic has potential - it allows you to scout from the air and relay it silently to someone on the ground. Plus you can cast Detect Thoughts, so you can use that to spy on those that you spot.
I wouldn't get them all and they're all context dependent so check each carefully (ie the actual description, not just my brief summary) to see if they would work with your build, but they're all ones that could help you as a mounted Drakewarden.

If you have sharpshooter, I’m guessing you’re ranged. At that point, I’d expect the best strategy most often would be to not stay mounted, so the drake can melee and be a meat shield for you while you hang back. Unless you need to move fast, then mount up and use its faster walking speed.
To linklite’s list, and add that piercer works with all piercing damage. And since ranged types usually use finesse weapons, and rapier and short sword are both finesse, piercer will likely help you in melee, too. And it’s a 1/2 feat if you have an odd dex score.
And mounted combatant only helps against creatures smaller than the mount, which means not much until you hit level 15 (as 6thlyranguard was saying). Also only helps on melee attacks. Personally not a big fan of the feat. Even less good for a drakewarden who can re-summon the mount for a spell slot. You’ll get tons of spell slots, but in most campaigns only 2-3 feats.
The biggest advantage of Mounting for rangers IMHO, is that increases your mobility options, in the case of the drake you will have a total of 40 feet of movement which will give you an edge in maintaining distance between you and your opponents (which means you getting to shoot the crap out of people more; always a good thing for archer types).
Throw in some speed spells for your buddy (IE longstrider) and you get a mount that will let you rope-a-dope forever.
you all made some great points since i wont be riding the drake to offten in combat unless i take the feat and i wont get much use from the feat until 15th level i maybe better to put that off till 12th to 16th level i may even just consider taking an ASI increase at 8th level or 12th
