I mean, you can still convert 5.0 subclasses into 5.5 with not too much trouble. Casters might be tough, but you can use the 5.5 phb as a reference for them. Other than that you make valid points
If they can be converted, then have to use the conversion tool in the book. If you can't, then it's homebrew
I'm really happy that it's now officially 5.5e. It's just so much easier to type and say (as well as being more memorable and easier to explain for people not following closely).
Having to type OneDnd or DnD 2024 was always far more clunky.

I just wrote 2024 or 2014 when being precise. Now I just say 5 or 5.5, no need even for the "e", unless someone is being pedantic.
