My second favorite part of D&D is reading the books in physical form, with the art, the paper texture and smell, etc. I just saw the video that came out a few hours ago, and MY GOD is the art in the 2024 PHB good! I have recently finished reading through the 3.5 books in their original layout (I am a future historian with A LOT of free time) and while the art over there is very sharp, gritty and unified, completely in line with the system, there is so little of it pages go by and all you see are letters. The 2014 Handbook was a massive improvement, like the 4e Handbook before it, but what I'm seeing this last couple of weeks just blows my mind! The layout looks much more "user friendly" too, which they mention in the video. And I love how the whole art team looks devoted to their work and excited about people getting to see it. I was already chomping at the bit to get the Player's Handbook so I can lead my group on a new campaign, but now I really don't know how I will be able to endure the wait to get the physical copy of the new book!

I find it weird that there like a million pieces of dragonborn yet they yet to bring them up in any conversation or show the art for their species pages

The little mini story of the Aberrant Mind having the Goolock's eye in a jar made me grin 😁
The easter egg that every Warlock will have their patron hidden in the art somewhere is awesome!
