The UK purchasers do get the preorder bonuses, I’ve got all the PHB ones after preordering, and I believe a big chunk of the differences in prices is down to tax. Our prices are quoted with VAT while the US store adds sales tax on afterwards
Hm. I don't see a price of $39.99 for the bundle, I see a price of $59.99 ($49.99 for the book, $10 to bundle the digital). Without VAT the UK price is £50, which is slightly more (about $65), but not enough to be particularly noteworthy.
Thanks to those members of the forum who have replied above, and the different tax arrangements is an issue I hadn't considered & fully worthy of mention.
However it doesn't do a great deal to account for the discrepancy.
If we were to add 20% sales tax to the US price, and I'm not aware of anywhere in the US that charges that much, it would take the PHB physical + digital price to $47.99 - still WAY short of the $78 UK price.
In fairness, 20% would take the Core Rulebook Bundle to $215.96, not far short of the $234 UK price, but a final US price of $190-195 is much more likely given actual Sales Tax figures. A smaller difference than I first surmised but, at $40, still pretty significant...

The way they describe it is confusing.
$30 is for digital only. You then have to switch tab to physical only or digital+physical. Physical is $50, then the bundle is $60.
It's confusing because it takes you to digital only, then talks about adding the digital for only $10 more, which gives you the impression the price displayed ($30) is for the physical only. It's not. It's digital only. You have to switch to the physical only tab for that offer to contextually make sense, it'll be $50, then you can add the digital to that for and additional $10 to make it $60.
I hope that makes sense.

In the US you can buy the new PHB as a digital plus physical bundle for $39.99 here:
https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/LP-CRB-2024/3709000?pid=DB3709000
But customers outside the US are re-directed to "our partner site", and in the UK that is here:
https://dndstore.wizards.com/uk
... Where the cost for the same bundle (actually a worse one because you don't get the character sheet bonuses) is £59.99...
That's about $78 or very nearly double. Doesn't seem very fair...
Similarly the Core Rulebook Bundle in the US is $179.97 as shown here:
https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/beyond-digital/core-rulebook-bundle
No such option exists outside the US. The "our partner site" link goes nowhere, just a 404 error.
But, using the link I mentioned earler, customers in the UK can buy it (minus some freebies) for £179.97 or about $234. A 30% increase...
Or am I reading those pages wrong?
The price listings on D&D Beyond do not include sales tax as that is calculated after you've entered your address.
The prices on the UK store include VAT.

@ Pantagruel666,
Odd...
I see $29.99 for the physical plus $10 for the digital when I look here:

@ Linklite,
You're not kidding! And, yes, that makes perfect sense, thanks.
It is ridiculously confusingly written/designed but you are quite right.
And the fact that it takes some time for the info to change when you switch tabs doesn't help either.
Thanks for running through it sensibly. They should give you a job! 😀👍
