I haven't seen an answer to the following question. When 2024 PBH comes out, will I be able to toggle between the two editions on my DnD Beyond account?
Currently I am running a group with some players who are new to ttrpgs. I plan to stick to the 2014 rules with them for now because I don't want to overwhelm them with a new set of rules that I will be trying to get used to as well when they are just starting to get used to the 2014 set of rules. However, I also plan to run a group with more experienced players using the 2024 PHB when it is released. I would like to know if there will be a way within DnD Beyond to toggle between the two systems?
Is there going to be something like, within a campaign, I can choose to either a) use 2024 only, b) use 2014 only, or c) use 2024 and adjust 2014 when needed?
Also, if a person is in a 2024 campaign, but chooses to use a 2014 subclass that isn't released in the 2024 PHB, will the character reaction process automatically adjust for the changes? Ie, will a bladesinger get it's subclass at level 3? How much micromanaging will I have to do as a DM to ensure that players who are wanting to use older subclasses are doing so properly in an online setting?
DDB needs to get its backside in gear though. Release is only a little over a month away, and they haven't said anything yet. We're well within the period where DMs are looking to start campaigns with the new rules, and want to be able to an ahead. Given WotC's [in]ability to communicate though, it wouldn't suprise me if we find out on the 3rd September.

Sadly i hope we hear some news from DDB soon , even if it is just that they are working on a 2024 character builder but it is delayed.
It’s the same game, so the same character builder will work the same way it always has.
The existing versions of the classes are already marked “(2014)” in the DDB app, so we can get a pretty good idea of how they’re going to be handling it. When you make a character, if you own the 2014 PHB, you’ll be able to choose 2014 versions of the classes, if you really want to.
Not really, you need to change around when the subclasses are gotten, add weapon mastery choices, change out the old and new abilities for classes like ranger etc. All while also allowing for standard 2014 characters to be built. This means either a new character builder (yes, based in many respects on the present one, but still new) or a massive rewrite of the present one allowing for the inclusion of the 2024 changes. Of the 2 I suspect the former will happen with the present builder reduced to a “legacy” product with no further development and the new 2024 builder getting any further upgrades and additions.

Did you not read my post? The second paragraph directly addresses everything you're saying here.
Yes I read your post and now reread it. I do not consider simply labeling the characters 2014 to be an indication of much of anything given the changes needed. It may be that they initially offer you the choice of 2014 or 2024 but that means they have built a second builder with all the new stuff I described, and you are checking which of 2 you want to use. The present builder cannot create 2024 PCs - so a second builder capable of doing so is required. It could be linked to the old one with a checkbox switch controlling which one you get, or, it may be a completely separate one that you only get access to if you buy the 2024 PHB. Or something else entirely - they have said nothing about how they are going to do it so we are all speculating.
You’re going to have to buy the new books. They aren’t being sold as revisions to the old books, but they are also described that they are too, so I can see where the confusions is coming from. They claim they are backwards compatible but players that use the 2014 rules will be way less powerful than 2024 characters. I also assume all the adventures scaled for 2014 characters will be way too easy for 2024 characters too. The dnd beyond marketplace has changed a lot since April, legendary bundles won’t give discounts on anything anymore, they don’t sell subclasses, monsters etc individually anymore and any you have purchased in the past will no longer give you discounts on the rest of the book. Not sure what else they will change too, but I assume it won’t be good for us.
You can still get credit for prior purchases if you buy a book you've already got parts of, it just doesn't apply automatically and you need to contact customer services for a discount code
I would expect/hope that they will make it clear when it is released. I, personally, am planning to buy the book. However, based on the fact that this hasn't been answered yet, I think that I am going to wait for a bit until it is. Right now, my intent is to run a group, kind of "power leveling" up to 8 (cause I almost never play past that) only using the 2024 subclasses. Then, rerun with the same group only using 2014 subclasses, but with the 2024 iteration to see how it feels. So, honestly, I have a bit of time. I just wish that I knew what was going on in advance (like many others).

well it makes sense youd have to contact CS its not like they use to track what parts you had from what book to track discounts or anything
I suspect that things won't really show up until after all 3 new books are out. the new basic rules and PHB will have a few monsters and animals, but we will need the new MM ( and DMG) to really see how things work and how the new PCs work against the new foes. so I wouldn't really be surprised if any new character builder didn't really fully hit until early 2205.

2205 would be rather unfortunate, but I don't think there's any need for the MM and DMG to come out for them to implement a new character builder. They're probably working on it now (if they aren't already working on it, there's no way it comes out on any reasonable schedule), but it could have been started back when they finalized the rules a few months back and still not make September, based on the apparent size of the development staff at DDB.
I doubt that. They have been clear that we can use the new PHB with current content. So, it wouldn't make sense for them to expect us to buy the digital books (which they are currently advertising) if we aren't able to use them to make characters right now.
If everyone noticed WoTC have been codifying abilities and features to better subdivide effects, they are doing this for a more flexible and customizable builder for the site and that mean replacing the old one pretty much or do double work to get to the same place with probably more bugs. They also mention on conference that they plan to turn DDB into something like a open market that users create stuff to sell and upload books without having DDB having to enter the configuration if possible and this require a more robust Builder to achieve. So I'm awaiting to see a new engine for homebrew building soon.

Has anyone been able to A/B 2014 and 2024 yet?

Claims to, but I don't know if anybody's checked their work.
