Just wondering I'd there's any word from D&DBeyond on how the new spells are going to work in the database they have here. Will it be like monsters where some spells will have the legacy tag for the old version? Will you only be able to see the new versions if you buy the new 2024 books?
No details that I have seen on anything regarding the 2024 rules integration on DDB yet. I would certainly think you will only be able to see the new versions of spells or anything else if you purchase the new PHB.
If you check out the news and feedback sections of the forum you will find recent posts with a large amount of customer backlash to the proposed way it's being handled. Anyone's guess as to whether the backlash will mean anything in the grand scheme of things and/or force WotC to reconsider their intended approach. It may turn out that they choose to do something other than what those posting above have described.
It's definitely a tossup; the OGL backlash made them reverse course, but the a la carte backlash so far hasn't. There may be an underlying technical reason why they can't Legacy every spell and item the way they plan to with classes and feats.

From what I've been reading, all spells will be transferring to the new versions. If you want to use Legacy Spells, you'll have to homebrew them.
The tooltips on the sheet and character builder will be updated. But your 2014 books will still be available with the original spells inside them.
