I'm quite new to DnD and we've tried the starterkit of the 5e. But after 2 sessions it dried out because most people weren't interested anymore.
But I want to continue with another new group, but would it be best to just wait for a new starterskit of the 2024 rulebooks? Are there any plans they'll release it any time soon?
There is no "D&D 6e" coming for the foreseeable future, the 2024 core rulebooks releasing between now and February are still D&D 5th edition books and are compatible with the existing Starter Sets and Essentials Kits. No new Starter Set/Essentials Kit has been announced

I thought JC mentioned a new starter kit in one of the videos. Not a big official announcement, just an off-hand mention.

I haven't seen that video but I'd be surprised if we don't see something along those lines by the end of 2025. That'll be about three years from Dragon of Storm Wreck Isle which is about the same gap between that and the previous Essentials Kit. It also makes sense from a marketing point of view to be able to point new customers at something and say "just buy this" for the 2024 rules
They haven’t added a new starter kit to the schedule yet. But the last one is only a year or two old and is still functionable.
It won’t be a bad thing if they lock in all the content before doing the starter set. The last three starter sets that came out during an edition revisions were done before the rules were fully finished and had discrepancies between the starter box and the full rules. Which is not desirable.
