If you purchase the 2024 books and had purchased the 2014 books, could you use the old rules as well as the new rules on DNDbeyond? For example, if you are playing a campaign with 2014 rules could you still use a 2014 diviner or are you restricted to the 2024 diviner?
From what they have said, if you are playing the 2024 version of a class, you can choose either the Legacy 2014 version or the 2024 version for a subclass. If you are playing the 2014 version of a class, you will not be able to use the 2024 version of the subclass.
It was my belief that they said if you are playing with 2024 rules they recommend you use those for everything unless there is a class (Artificer), subclass not updated in the 2024 PHB, species, feat (all non-updated feats are considered General feats with 4th level requirements) etc. then you can use the older version (subclasses would still be played on the 2024 core class and may need features adjust to fit the 3rd level start on all subclasses)
You could however use 2014 classes and pre-2024 update subclasses, but I don’t think they recommend a 2014 class with 2024 subclass.
If you want to play with all the 2014 rules then skip the 2024 update altogether.
I've got a question about which PHB to buy. I just subscribed and am adding my characters which are all obviously on 2014 rules. Can I use my 2014 character builds if I get the digital 2024 PHB here? I have the physical 2014 PHB so would really hate to have to buy the digital 2014 one for my current characters.
Yes. There'll be a toggle so you can switch between the rules.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I don't know if we have any explicit information yet, but based on past trends the 2014 PHB will be retired from the market in a few weeks once the 2024 PHB hits its general release date. The 2024 one will not be including access to 2014 content, those are two separate products.
This is what I came to this thread specifically to comment on. I purchased the 2024 and just noticed that some of the 2014 content (details on health potion oddly) is not available. So, then under this thought, I will have to buy the 2014 as well to have access to anything that wasn't included in the 2024. right?

Thanks!!! 😊😊
To give a little more input, Caerwyn is correct

Someone correct me if I made a mistake in there.
