I have the new PHB in hand, I was going to make a doc to use for my game, we don't use DND Beyond. But it's telling me to get a sub so I can use a book that I bought, I have the physical copy in hand. What gives?
If you only purchased the physical copy, then you won't have access to the PHB on D&D Beyond. You only have access to the digital content on D&D Beyond for any of the source books if you purchase the digital version through D&D Beyond (or if you purchased a physical copy through D&D Beyond and selected to add the digital version for [I think] $10 more).
A physical copy of ANY of the source books alone does not grant access to the digital version on D&D Beyond. Nor would you be able to access the spells, classes, subclasses, races, backgrounds, etc that are in the sourcebook through the Character Creator or the Encounter Builder.
You should not require any subscription to use any material purchased through D&D Beyond, either. Subscriptions only allow you to add publicly shared homebrew content, create unlimited characters in the Character Builder, early access to stuff, monthly subscriber perks, and the ability to share books with other D&D Beyond members in your campaigns.

What kind of doc?
I was going to copy the changes for warlock and have them in a doc I could easily reference
The Player Handbook officially releases on September 17, 2024 (local game stores were allowed to sell their physical versions early to give them a leg up over Amazon and other big sellers). In order to access the D&D Beyond digital version before that date, you need to have a subscription for easy access.
Thus, you will either have to purchase a subscription - either tier should work at this point - or wait until the book officially releases to get the digital copy you preordered.
This was all abundantly clear on the purchase page for the bundle.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

Yeah, you are going to have to pay twice.
Ignore this user - either do to not reading your posts, not understanding how bundles work, or other reasons, they are providing you incorrect and irrelevant information. Evidently they ignored the fact that you purchased the digital and physical bundle and therefore their above post is completely irrelevant to your situation.
Please refer instead to mine and Linklite’s post above - you have already purchased the digital book; the issue is that, as was clear when you purchased, you only get early access (access before September 14, 2024) if you are subscribed. Subscribing today to either tier will automatically grant you access to the content.

You will get the digital on release day then. The subscription gets you early access.
Assuming you're talking about the 2024 versions.
