An update on this, you don't need to make a custom class to play the 2014 rules for a new character. what you need to do when creating the character is to specifically uncheck the core rules box while keeping the 2014 core rules checked, do this before selecting your levels and it'll show the 2014 version of the class, once selected if you need some things from the 2024 rules you can then recheck the box of the character settings and proceed as normal. I had a friend run into this issue getting a 2014 moon druid together and it took a little bit to figure this out, it feels like they are doing this intentionally to make it harder to find old content on classes that share the same name, forcing players to use the new rules which also means purchasing them, corporate greed at its finest folks!

Just to clarify, you do not actually need to uncheck the “Core Rules” box. You just need to make sure the “2014 Core Rules” box is checked.
If both are checked, the 2014 classes are listed below the 2024 ones; you just need to scroll down. There’s no need to check and uncheck things later.
