I heard that for non-reprinted feats (such a Metamagic Adept from Tasha's) that don't give any ability score increase, there was guidance with 2024 rules to treat those feats as half-feats.
So in the Metamagic Adept example, you could add +1 to one of your spellcasting stats, assuming that this guidance exists.
However, I have no clue where this guidance is or if it actually exists. Is anyone here familiar with it?
It makes sense to me since feats like War Caster and Spell Sniper were both updated to provide a +1 ability score, but I'd like to have official word before I put it into a build.
I am drooling over the combination to be had with the Epic Boon of Skill and the Rogue's Reliable Talent. Just...never fail any skill check ever again.
Then again, Epic Boon of Dimensional Travel is freaking sweet as well. Honestly. they did a great job with (most) of the Epic Boons, making them feel truly awesome. https://xender.vip/

That was the advice for Backgrounds (new Backgrounds have ASIs associated with them, old ones don't, so you are allowed to choose ASIs if you use an old Background; similarly with Origin Feats). I don't think it's the same for Feats. That would make some quite powerful. You also get the argument that many are already half-Feats.

Bit of an oddly specific question here.

I don't remember any such guidance. In the PHB you can only convert Backgrounds and Species (races) from older books using specified methods.
