I'm guessing that my issue has something to do with the recent 5.5E changes to DDB, but why can't I see any magical crossbows in the magic items section?

There used to be a decent selection, starting with the generic +1, +2, +3 etc, but now almost nothing, not even these generic magic crossbow options. 

The only one(s) that come up when I search the word 'crossbow' are starshot (magic item page) and truename variants (general DDB search).

I'm a longtime DM/user and own the legendary bundle and have Master Tier sub, so it shouldn't be a case of lack of access, though I haven't purchased any of the new 5.5E sources. 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Try setting the "Weapon Type" filter to the three types of crossbows rather than just typing the word "crossbow" into the name field. Most magic crossbows that are currently available are generic weapons that can be multiple types (and therefore don't necessarily have the word "crossbow" in the name).

Thanks. You are right and that is where I went wrong. You can search and add the way I'd been doing directly into PC character sheet inventories, but not from the magic items page for some reason.
