i swear to god today i played a Ravnica one shot that was based in homebrew stuff. 2 hours later this gets announced. this is like god looking down and saying "here you go."
Really would have preferred Dragonlance, or even Dark Sun, Kara-Tur, Spelljammer. Maybe someday there will be someone at Wizards that has an appreciation for the great settings from the history of the game.
Yeah, there's another part that states it is playtest material.
Edit: Bear in mind: this book presents my vision of Eberron. This is the world I run at my own table, and the way that I’ve converted its ideas to the fifth edition rules. All of the material here is presented for playtesting and to spark your imagination. The game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by final game design and editing. They aren’t officially part of the game and aren’t permitted in D&D Adventurers League events. If Wizards of the Coast decides to make this material official, it will be refined based on your feedback and then appear in a D&D book.
However a thing to note is Mike Mearls commented on twitter the DnDbeyond books and DMsGuild will be always updated to meet current rules so when they get an offical release the rules will be at the non playtest state also will have artificer added.

As a player of both games, this seems pretty cool. I'm interested to see how they'll handle the different mechanics. Of course, I'm not expecting them to literally use MTG mechanics in D&D, but I'm still interested.
As i understand it, pure D&D mechanics in a MTG setting.

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.
My local game store said that there was a joint event for a M:TG tournament that was going to merge the two formats a bit. not sure if this is just something my local store is doing or if this is a WoTC thing. I, however, not being much of a Magic player anymore am thrilled to be able to go back to one of my favorite M:TG settings. Looking forward what they've got in store on both Player and DM fronts.
Just cuz this hasnt been brought up yet (that i've seen): The Ravnica guilds will be taking the spots of Backgrounds with this setting. This is going to rant the player a special skill, like most backgrounds, as well as normal skill proficiency and Guild contacts. Here's the link: Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica Announcement video

Hopefully there's more out on it soon. With Dragon Heist having been released and Guilds of Ravnica spoiler season in full swing over on MTG, my guess is we'll start to see more information and articles about the new setting.
Does anyone know what's the Map pack part of this product actually is?
Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be available from UK Amazon, but it is on the US Amazon site. And there is no actual product description anywhere.
Is it a book? Is it a box of stuff? Is it a waste of money to order it from across the pond?
I spoke to my local store, and they didn't even know it existed.
Oddly - it's on the French Amazon website here so the cost/shipping should be lower than ordering from the US site. At least until Brexit hits anyway.....
Edit - it is also on the Spanish and Italian Amazon sites. All three have the English language version listed
Another Edit - Several sites have it in the UK, including Rules Of Play (FLGS based in Cardiff and Bristol), you can pre-order here
Product info is scarce - best I have found so far is
"Finding your way through the eternally vast plane of Ravnica is a daunting task…unless of course you have a map. This pack of maps and additional material will provide players and Dungeon Masters alike with a variety of options for adventure and excitement."
This is purely a guess, but based on what that image says the map pack is a box of maps. I'd say of major areas of interest within the 10th district (I believe that where I recall the setting within Ravnica taking place). Probably a couple of more generic ones that could be used wherever as well, market place, dark alley, ect.

Does this mean we will see the other MtG releases on DDB soonish?
Unlikely unless they receive some sort of update.
I make stuff on DMs Guild, DriveThruRPG, & Storytellers Vault. I stream things on Twitch.

Rumor i heard was possibly two more MTG settings depending on how this one works out.

which is odd since they just got rid of the guilds in Adventure League.
