I think most of us are aware of the FiveThirtyFive article that looked at DnDBeyond data to see if your character was a common choice among players.
If you have NOT read this article please see the link here.....it is worth the time to look over as it is very fascinating!
My question is...do we have data for other choices? Like sub-classes, weapons, feats, and spells? It would be interesting to see how it all broke down!
I hope more data like that is released! Yesterday's dev stream included data on the least popular combinations of races and classes, and I would love it to be expanded to more than just the bottom 5. Plus I would like the numbers to back up those positions.
This was an interesting read. Thanks for linking to it, I hadn't seen it before. With that being said these results should be taken with a grain of salt because I see a couple issues with data.
1. At the end of the table it says. Among races available for free. Characters with multiple classes count once for each class. This is going to lead to bias towards classes that multiclass well.
2. In the comments to the article someone made a good point about DND Beyond being a DM tool as much or more so that a player tool. The author admitted that he had not considered this when he wrote the article so there is no distinction between what characters were made for PCs and which were made to be NPCs. This could mean that this is not a representative sample of what players actually choose.
Some of the data is probably pretty accurate though, and I find it fascinating that there are more Tiefling warlocks than Tiefling sorcerers and bards combined.
Yes, but I don't want to scan the dev updates for those charts. This chart is easy to find. If they added (might be here, I just haven't found them) the charts to the website, that would be pretty fantastic.

This is old news. Adam has shown many more charts since then in the dev updates which you can find on the youtube channel.
