For those who don't know what I mean, the Heroes of the Realm are the main characters of the D&D cartoon from the 80's. They were a group of human children from our Earth who found themselves in a less talked about D&D setting called "The Realm", hence the name "Heroes of the Realm". They went on fun adventures to try and find a way back home, and even took on Tiamat herself a few times. As well as an original foe of hers called Venger. The cartoon was popular, but was cancelled before it could be concluded. And the creator made up for this by releasing a comic that would have been the final episode of season 1 or 2. There, the kids defeat Venger, and find themselves in another world.
These kid recently were made canon in official D&D lore via their cameo in Honor Among Thieves where it's revealed they are now adults. They even got an adventure called Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn, where you could either play as the now adult heroes, or aid them in rescuing Uni, their cute unicorn sidekick. They were also mentioned in the 2024 DM guide where it's revealed they are STILL looking for a way home, even after all those decades. Anyway, I've been pondering about adding them into one of my adventures. But I'm curious if there has been any stories set between their comic and their adult appearances in Honor Among Thieves, Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn? Anything that I may need to know. I want these characters to feel authentic.
The only thing I can think of was a recent comic called something like “Saturday Morning Adventures Dungeons and Dragons” that I’m sure you can find somewhere online to read. It’s ok but I thought the characters were a little out of character (no one except Hank wanting to go home anymore is a major plot point) and to fit in with the film The Realm is suddenly the Forgotten Realms without explanation
That's the comic I talked about. If that's all, I'll need to fill in blanks.
My stories are set in a homebrew Exandria, where nothing from Mercer's stories occurred. And the HOTR have found themselves there. As for what I intend to do with them, either they've been taken prisoner and need to be rescued by the PC's. This is where my PC's learn of the multiverse. Or the Lich of one of my stories is revealed to be Presto, driven to villainy after losing the rest of his friends and learning that there is no way back home.
I really do hope they give us some more stuff with the Characters though, I’m sure we’re not the only ones with a lot of nostalgia for the cartoon and it would be nice to know what they got up to. An ongoing comic or even a novel would be really nice to have

Sounds cool, good luck with it.

Thank you.
Just noticed this (doesn’t seem to have been an announcement yet) but there’s a free one shot coming next week with the Heroes in Hold Back The Dead
