does somebody know if there will be a alternate version of the Players Handbook to buy with certain Artworks changed? With the sales numbers not performing so well and big companys leaving certain trends behind, there are new buyers out there for sure.
Even stickers to paste over certain artworks would be fine for me.
Dont get me wrong, all artworks are very good and look awesome. I just want different ones in some cases. And if hasbro can make more money this way, why not?
Probably not with minor changes. A tiny possibility they'll release like a collector's edition or something that will have all the artwork changed. That'll be a few years though, and if it's not selling well (something I haven't checked for quite a while, and when I did it was too early to make any definite claims, so I'm just accepting your claim for the sake of discussion there), then it'll probably just get dropped and replaced with 6e. Alternate versions are for popular things, after all.
As for why they wouldn't? It costs money. Putting new art in costs money to commission, to revise and approve, to rearrange the text to fit the shapes in an aesthetic way and so forth. It's not just a case of Googling an image and slapping it in like we amateurs do. Certainly not worth it for just a couple of images (and we have precedent there - they removed pictures of the Hadozee and never replaced them in some cases, so unless they feel a real need to change it, they won't). As I said, if they wanted to completely revamp it, that could be a possibility, but it needs to be popular (like they did it for Curse if Strahd - which, not by mere coincidence, is the most popular adventure in 5e).
I'm not sure what your motivation is though, if "all artworks are very good and look awesome", then why would you want to cover them up or swap them out?

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I really don't see that happening, unless there's an issue of copyright, The art's licensed, the money's paid. Getting in new art costs more money. Creating stickers to cover it up and marketing and selling those costs money.
What art do you find so objectionable that you're demanding an official sticker to cover it up?
hmmm, sounds grim for my hopes. Maybe a collectors edition will be more to my likeing. If it comes out in a few years we will be lucky, more likely on 60 years DND or a new 6e (if ever).
Why I want some Artworks changed? Just personal preferences. Even if I want a particular artwork changed, I can see that it is well made, just not my cup of tea.
You purchased the book. There's nothing preventing you from going out and hiring artists to create stickers to cover up the pictures you find objectionable.

6e is pretty much guaranteed. It may not be called that, but it will happen. There'll be new core rule books within ten years. TTRPGs make their big bucks on core rule books, because every table has to buy them, usually multiple times (unlike expansions, adventures etc). The only reason they don't do it more often is because people will lose confidence - why spend $100+ on the rules when they'll have to be replaced in two years? So there's a balancing act between encouraging people to buy the books and getting them out as often as possibleso they won't stick to their old ones that don't costt anything more.
There'll be new ones by 2034. Sooner, if 2024e flops. It's just how the system works.

As far as I'm aware, this has never been done for a D&D book, or any TTRPG book, ever. The closest I can think of is MCDM releasing full-page stickers to fix a layout issue with one of their books (rather than people waiting for the reprinted version)
Wanting stickers to cover up certain artwork is a very odd request and I'm sure to raise certain eyebrows. You can simply just not pay attention to it? It's not like there's anything offensive in the books, so it's surely a non-issue?

Hard not to pay attention to artworks that cover 30% to 70% of a page. If this would be a non issue for me, I would not have asked. Since its highly subjective its fine if eybrows are raised, but not an issue for me. Thanks for the research to MCDM, seems like I have to get creative.

Maybe the sales will go up, as soon als more tables finish thier campains on 2014 Rules before they switch. Or some new Adventures need to be released since all 2014 books are compadabile with 2024. I ilke the rules in 2024 so far, who knows what WOTC comes up with in 10 years.
You could just get some black duct tape and censor out everything :D
If you know someone who sells duct tape with gorgeous artworks, tell me :P
I mean, the book is already filled with gorgeous artwork, I was just providing a quick solution seeing as averting your eyes doesn't seem to be an option for whatever reason.
