I am new to DM'ing and have really enjoyed the episodic/ job board style of content in Candlekeep Mysteries. It allows my group to jump in and out as schedules permit.
Having come from more traditional board games, I always loved the simplicity of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. Including a battle map book that lays out each session or module made planning and set up SO easy.
I was curious if this is something that has been discussed by WoTC or been done in the past? It seems like this would be something that could incentivize buying the physical books for those who aren't interested in moving to a VTT. Currently, I am forced to download all the maps as PDF's, Scale them to appropriate sizes, and poster print them over several sheets of 8.5/11 paper.
Long rant, but this feels like a missed opportunity. As a new DM I feel that I am being pushed towards VTT's, with little to no resources for physical maps (short of an insane time sink). Which kind of defeats the purpose of DnD being an excuse for our friend group to get together for me.
