Does anyone know how to make NPC characters for the players that can level up along side of them?
I feel like i just need to go creat a character sheet and leave it unassigned in the campaign so a player or myself can run them.
Any ideas will be much appreciated!
It sounds like you want full player character classes. As an alternative, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything has the Sidekick rules, which are a pretty good way to let PCs control reasonably capable but not overly complex NPCs. Since you joined DnD Beyond after Tasha's came out is seems likely you're already aware Sidekicks are a thing. If not, here is a discussion on them you might find helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/tm46de/what_does_everyone_think_of_tashas_sidekicks/
Sidekicks are (very sadly) not implemented on DnDBeyond, however, so if your question is really just about how to have NPC sheets on DnD Beyond then unfortunately I'm not helping.
No this is helpful thank you! I may have to make one outside of dnd beyond and just have a PDF saved but thank you for the information!!
Awesome, glad it was helpful to you. It's a reasonably effective way to add some flexibility to a group if you feel it's lacking a skill monkey, a very simplified and toned down support caster, or some straightforward muscle.
