What do you do when one of your players wants to play a warlock of the Horned King (one of the new subclasses introduced in the setting book), when the Horned King is also one of the major villains of the campaign?

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
Say: 'That doesn't really fit the theme of this campaign.'
Or roll with it. Will you betray your friends, or your patron? I'm sure the Horned King has some enemy who'd be delighed to step in and become a new patron to the PC.

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
Are you trying to use 2014 or 2024? I'm also trying and it looks like it 2024 only which is disappointing. I've supported the Kickstarter and picked 2014 for my TTV and everything. https://omegle****/ I only rebought it so my player could use dnd beyond to make their characters...

Thanks. That’s a good idea.

Tip: Create a homebrew copy of the subclass, create a new subclass for the other version of the class (2014/2024), copy everything identically (except remember to change the levels of the 1st properties for classes that get their subclasses at levels 1 or 2 in 2014).

2024. I hadn’t tried to use it with the 2014 subclasses.

These were already added to the 2014 classes. No homebrew necessary
