Basically the title. I can only see one subclass per class, and I doubt my book will update on it's own, so I just wanna check I'm up to date on the official rules.
If you're not seeing the subclasses you expect for your digital Player's Handbook, the most likely reason is that you're using the wrong version of the class.
Make sure the appropriate toggles in the character builder are turned on, and then make sure to choose from either the core rules or the 2014 rules classes when picking your class, depending on which book you have.
Only one subclass is available for free online as part of the basic rules. If you want to use others on here, you need to buy the book in which the subclass appears online here, or use the homebrew tool to put it in yourself.
I’m going to imagine this is upsetting and annoying, as it is for most people when they find this out for the first time. The short version is: this has been the policy for a long time, and it’s not going to change.
I agree with you Xalthu, and this is very annoying for very new people (like the original poster) that get a book as a gift, then find out about the site, and now forced to buy the book again. It is also not clear that you can get just a digital copy only.
For those that start on the site 1st, then want to buy, the model makes perfect sense.

I will note that, if you're playing in a group that's using DDB, all it requires is that somebody have the digital book, and somebody have a master subscription and turn on content sharing for the campaign, and everybody can use the book to build characters in the campaign. (And they keep their already-selected options even if removed.)
(This is not, of course, the only way people want to use DDB, but its a very common one.)

If you own the digital books, shouldn't they update automatically? I guess the Change log would be another source?

Depends which book it is and which updates you're expecting to happen automatically. If you've only got the 2014 PHB that's never going to update to the 2024 subclasses

this part of the site contains all changes etc that happened after publish, or at least it should. There you should be able to find out what should be changed in the physical version you have: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/sae

Also, make sure your entitlements are synced.
I just have a physical copy
