The party is playing Eve of Ruin, and through various twists and turns, starting with the party taking an immediate dislike to Mordenkassen, I've made quite a few changes, not least of which is a set of quests following Tasha's alternative suggestion of collecting artefacts connected to Vecna's magic and using them to undermine his magic and overpower him. In order to avoid making the campaign way longer, I cut a couple of the original chapters and arranged for the final couple of pieces of the Rod of Seven Parts to be located in the same place as the Hand of Vecna - in the hands of the real Mordenkainen.
The heist quest has them run into Mordenkainen, who has formed a new Circle of Eight which includes Zybilna (Tasha. The Tasha in the Sanctum is a younger version recruited from across time). Like Kas, Mordenkainen is trying to gather the Rod pieces, and like her younger self, Zybilna suggested the backup plan of artefacts connected to Vecna. What neither of them knew was that the party was out there doing the exact same thing as unwitting puppets of a fake Mordenkainen.
For the heist, I'd like to use the Obsidian Citadel, the original home of the Circle, but there don't seem to be any maps of it. Does anyone know of an easily adaptable alternative and what book I'd find it in? A fort or magical monastery/school of some sort would be best, or a big enough wizards' tower would do.
