I want to edit my existing Cleric to a different domain. I am trying to make him a darker character to reflect the changes in his personality due to significant loses to our party and key NPCs in recent week. I want to edit a copy of my character, not the original incase I decide to scrap the whole plan. The problem is that I want to change my Cleric's domain to something darker. When I created and if I edit the original, all domains were available.
My DM has shared the 2024 Players Handbook with the party. Do I actually need to own the digital version (vs shared with me) in order to see all the domains?
I believe the sharing is done "per campaign". My guess is that your original character is in your DM's campaign and hence has access to all books shared, but your new copy isn't in that campaign.
Yeah, you need to add the new character to the campaign to be able to use character options that are being shared with you from that campaign.
You can have more than one character in the same campaign without any problems. Just use the same join link that you got when you added your original character to it; if you don't still have that link, ask your DM to send it to you.
