Looks like last updated in August - but pushing out the Forgotten Realms physical book release dates to "beyond November". Any more information on likely dates as we get closer to release in other markets?
I find this bizarre - if they know preorders then why can't they fill those first before other non preorder sales? I mean a month wait isn't going to kill us.... but it sure burns when all the wotc promo pushes a worldwide release date, then 3 days out they say 'oh, actually, come back in a month! '. I feel sorry for the poor shops passing on the news to keen fans. https://19216811.cam/
What's worse though is the massive wait on the second batch of phb - my players have been told February lol
Thanks custin! I am also a bit confused, hoping Wizards/Hasbro can work some magic and get the wavy books shipped across the world. I know international logistics is complicated, but I remember the days where New Zealand and Australia used to be the "first" to launch due to time zones, and there was always plenty of stock. I'm not a shipping expert but we can get things delivered to the AUS/NZ fairly quickly from the USA and Europe, hopefully our local importers are doing their best.
My only wisdom to WOTC is if there is discussion about physical products and sales etc, a global release date is huge in terms of people purchasing the product. You used to be global without any issues, it's worth challenging your logistics suppliers and getting things back into order.
Some of this is descions between local printers or single global printers, and with their quality issues, probably single global printers is going to be more important. Then it comes to shipping. They won't be mailing out individual copies from the US one by one. They'll ship large quantities into countries, then distribute mail orders, and ship consignments to stores. Couple that with all the disruptions to trade, and there's a lot of uncertainty in the world right now.
Notes: Edited to remove elements that touch too much on the political
