if you have not ordered the Forgotten Realms: Adventures in FaerûnandForgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn yet and you are a fan of the history lore behind the Forgotten Realms, I am going to let you know ORDER IT! While I really liked the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, I really felt like they should have don a little deeper dive. While quite a bit more expensive, this one is really worth it. Especially so if you plan on making your own adventures in this setting. Details on factions, regions, cities and town and even a history of the entire time lines from the beginning right up to the current DR, with full details on the calendar, the holidays, the deities. This is a one stop shop[ for everything you ever wanted to know about the forgotten realms. No, I don't work for WotC or DNDBeyond.com and am gaining no financial or material compensation for saying this, but these say on the covers "Player Handbook Expansion" and DMS Guide Expansions and they 100% are. Way more detail then Dragonlance, Planescape or Spelljammer.
Just saying if you are considering buying this but think the price is to steep... It is not. They really made a great guide to the entire almanac of Faerun.
I flipped through Adventures in Faerun and Heroes of Faerun today at my LGS and I have to admit, the two books were pretty packed with information and the art was awesome. Like the art is legitimately fantastic. I am pretty much done buying from DDB and WotC, but I did think these books were tempting. I might circle around to them one day.
