I've not heard anything either but as Lia says we've no had any official announcements on anything for a long time (which is kind of odd in itself) but probably worth not getting your hopes up too much as we've not even had an playtest that points towards Al Qadim
Odds are it's someone having a "Stuff east of Calimshan is happening because Calimshan" moment again.
Unless there is an unheard of budget for non-AI sensitivity consultants from around the world being hired, don't emotionally invest in any news on that front.
We'll be lucky if Dark Sun makes it out of UA, with how things are going.

I do have my fingers crossed for some kind of announcement at PAX unplugged this weekend, but as others have said the only thing announced as of now is the eberron book next month.
Al-Qadim is a Forgotten Realms spin-off, like Kara-tur and Maztica. This means it is unlocked in DM-Guild. WotC is more interested into selling crunch and players options than lore or gazeteers. If there is something, we should see something in UA articles.

I heard a rumor that Al Qadim will be released for D&D 5.5. Is that true if so when will it be out?
