Am I losing my mind or did the Physical Book Prices go up $20?
I checked Amazon to see what the Black Friday Sales looed like, as I have purchased some books at good rates on previous sales.
Usually the older 5e books ran for $30 normally and you could pick up some for $20 or slightly under.
Now all of the books on Amazon are listed at $50 and are on sale for $40!
Am I remembering correctly or am I way off?

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
In the UK they're all still the same £30-£35 they've always been. It's possible Amazon US finally got fed up swallowing tariff rises and passed them along

The US list price for the physical core books has always been $49.99 as far as I'm aware. The digital versions are $29.99, but you can only buy those here on D&D Beyond, not on Amazon.

Respectfully, their question/complaint was not about the digital books, but the physical. Although the digital form is cheaper, it has the draw back of losing access to it if D&D beyond were to fold or you lose access to your email account, since there is no way to download the digital copy.

That would be why the first thing I said in my post was answering their question about the physical version.
I looked at my purchase history on Amazon. I bought the 2014 PHB, DMG, and MM when they were first released and paid about $30 each for them. Though as wagnarokkr pointed out, the MSRP on the books is $49.99 each ($49.95 for the 2014 PHB, DMG, and MM, for a bit of fun trivia). So the base price on the books hasn't gone up. Amazon just isn't cutting as steep a discount on D&D books as they used to.
Also, more credit to wagnarokker, the digital books are listed at $29.99 on D&D Beyond, though several including the 2024 PHB, DMG, and MM are currently on sale for $25.49. Not sure if you're wanting to buy into D&D Beyond's digital platform or stick to strictly physical books, so do with that information what you will.
