Yo! Just had an idea to pair Jim's Magic Missile and Hex for a fun build. With the Shadowmoor Hexer origin feat, you can grab Hex. I was originally looking to see if you could do this with standard Magic Missile and noticed that Hex stated it could only be applied to an attack roll, which doesn't work with Magic Missile's auto-hit. So, I switched it to Jim's twisting, whistling, hypoallergenic, gluten-free Magic Missile.
Any ideas about making this combo any better? So far, I've thought of playing as a halfling/kithkin as to not get shot in the face with 6d4+3d6 damage on a 1, and Evoker Wizard's 14th level feature that has you deal maximum damage (there's 100% better ways to apply that feature though)

Yeah, but that blowback for a Nat 1, the Royalty component, and whether a DM allows Acquisitions Incorporated content in their game, has to be considered.

That's why I suggested going halfling for the reroll you get on a 1. You're totally right about the DM's choice on allowing setting-specific spells and backgrounds tho, especially if they're running a more serious campaign. I don't see the big deal is about the 1gp spell component since after landing all of your shots, 6d4+3d6 damage is pretty good damage early on

Acq Inc is official DND content in my opinion, but I can see why you wouldn't allow it

GMs do not, in general, include all officially published content in their games.
Especially not something like Acquisitions Inc, which feels like a joke product.
