So I’ve been thinking the O2 is more of a venue for concerts & Shows. I know they have announced the two shows on opening night & the one on Sunday. But my main question is how this an expo ? I’d of thought it make sense to be at the Excel for an expo like most other conventions. I love D&D and I enjoy watching and listening to shows but I’d rather it be an option if that makes sense ? I’d rather spend the day going round stalls, playing the game, hanging out and stuff like that like most other conventions. They havent really announced what else there is to do apart from there will be tables and stalls but I don’t know the O2 seems like a bit of a strange venue for it ? sorry it’s very late here and my 11 month old is keeping me up and im very sleep deprived! I hope I make some sense ! If I get my long rest in hell even a short rest I’ll re write what I mean 🤣🫠
The O2 does have lots of exhibition space in addition to it's arena venues, however the Excel center doesn't have arena space. So it makes sense to go with the O2 if you want to put on live plays. I do agree that if I were to go, it'd be to attend the exhibition stuff—vendors, games etc. I'm waiting on further info on that before I pull the trigger
I’ve been similarly confused over what this actually is as the announcement wasn’t incredibly clear and the choice of venue seemed odd. I’d love it to be a proper D&D convention but if it’s mostly live plays it becomes a lot less interesting
I have booked both the Friday (21st August) and Saturday (22nd August) and I saw this thread and thought I would comment and share my experience. Hopefully it helps and please take with the usual caveats of this is our interpretation and could be wrong. I agree isn't very clear but what we have understood when we went to book. Maybe the Community Manger can give us a bit more information?
Firstly there are two tickets one for the Friday and one for the Saturday.
The Friday is the live show starting around 7PM and is a "cheaper" of the two days with a starting ticket of £42.90 for the cheap seats (which is what I went for) going up to around £65 odd for the closer to the stage (apologies the figures might be a little out as I am doing this from memory).
Saturday appears to be more of the Expo with mentions of stalls, game tables and panels during the day with a show in the evening. The tickets are from about £70 odd and up based on seating for the show (again you have to pick a seat when booking). What I did see that there was lots of activity when booking our tickets on last Friday with several of the sections appearing to be sold out already for the Saturday. There were VIP bundles with and without accommodation included, I didn't explore these options as they were expensive for me and the family.
I have gone for this as it is the first time in ages that there has been a purely D&D event in the UK and wanted to show our support. I really hope that it is what I have understood it to be!
AXS have postponed the event until 4-5th September 2027!
Email recieved this morning: "Hello,
We wanted to share an important update regarding D&D Fan Expo: London.
To ensure we can deliver the truly epic experience this community deserves, the event will be rescheduled to 4th and 5th September 2027. This decision allows us to expand the show and bring you a bigger, better celebration of Dungeons & Dragons with more to see, more to do, and more special guests involved.
We know how much you’ve been looking forward to the event, and we truly appreciate your patience while we take the time to make it the best it can possibly be.
We will be announcing an array of new details and additions for the event in the coming weeks. Be sure to follow @dndwizards and @aegpresents.ents social channels, and sign up for updates at dndfanexpo.com.
Your tickets will remain valid for the new date, but if you can no longer attend, refunds are available on request from your original point of purchase.
Thank you for being part of the adventure, we can’t wait to share what’s coming next."
I'm guessing they've not sold as many tickets as they thought they would have.
Could be they wanted to wait until after gen con at the end of august. They’re planning big announcements there. Maybe they wanted to hold off until after so they can keep the hype train rolling on whatever they announce?🤷♂️

Isn't that bump a little over a year after the original dates though?
