Typically the alternate covers are reserved for brick and mortar gaming stores. If you have one near you reach out and see if they're getting the alt covers and if they do pre-sales.
Here is the DnD Beyond Article on Local Game Store Early Access, which also covers the Alternate Art Covers for the Books.
They started the Early Access in May of 2024, with all new Core Rulebooks, Adventures, and Anthologies. The availability of the Alt Covers goes back further than that, but they were only ever available at your Local Game Store (LGS).
So, for the Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, it looks like you should be able to visit your LGS on June 2nd and pick up the Alternate Cover Version.
I will suggest that as the time gets close to the release date, you call the store and verify that they are planning to stock the Alt Cover Version... But that is just a suggestion. I went to my closest store for the Dragon Delvs Alt Cover, and they did not get any, so I had to go to the next closest store.
Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
I’d go a step further than Laird Denton. Call now. Alternate covers often sell out. Some game stores even only sell them to pre-order customers, since they never really know how many to buy. If you are sure you want it, pre-ordering can ensure you get the version you want, and also that the game store orders the right amount. It really helps everyone.

Hello :) I hope I'm in the correct channel !
I wanted to pre-order the Ultimate Version of Horrors Within, but I'd like the alternate cover. Is it possible ?
