One of my players' characters has Scimitar proficiency attributed to his 1 Monk level...we're not sure why

He's 5th level and we're just now noticing it.

Cleric 4/Monk 1

Mind Domain

Thaumaturge divine order

Kalashtar

No feats or background give him Scimitar.

He doesn't p/u any weapon proficiencies from Monk since it wasn't his 1st lvl.

Neither of us added a custom proficiency.

When I mouse over it on the sheet, it says Monk but we're really not sure why/how.

Any ideas?

Post the PC sheet.

Best guess is that taking Monk level gave them proficiency in martial weapons with the light property.
