Hullo everyone! I'm currently listening to Just Roll With It: Riptide, and I'm nearly finished with all available episodes. I absolutely adore the podcast and I love how storyline-driven it is, but the players are still your typical D&D idiots when the time makes sense. I used to listen to Tales From The Stinky Dragon, but I got bored a good way in and stopped listening. I've heard Critical Role is good, but I'd really love a podcast that doesn't totally take it seriously, but still has good character moments and storyline. I know it's a very specific request, but I'd love to hear anything you guys have.

Dimension 20 seems like it can fit your needs. They definitely don't take it too seriously, but do have some really intense, deep, and serious moments.
Oxventurers Guild, from the folks at Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra, with Johnny Chiodini as DM. They tend to keep things light and occasionally silly but still have solid story and character beats. There's several years of content in that campaign in which you can listen to them go from D&D novices who have no idea what they're doing to being veterans who occasionally seem to know what they're doing. When they wrapped up the original Oxventurers Guild campaign they started Wyrdwood, which Johnny cooked up as a folk horror setting. That's gone two seasons and a third is expected sometime this year.
I highly recommend Dungeons of Drakkenheim and the two follow ups Shadows of Drakkenheim and Fate of Drakkenheim. Some fantastic world building, likeable characters, and a nice balance of serious play and sheer stupidity

I second this recommendation! Oxventures Guild is seriously underrated and underrepresented when talking about D&D podcasts. Great group, super fun, and never takes themselves too seriously.
