I tried this in the Story and Lore forum, but I would like to know what you folks feel about the campaign settings overall. I've tried to put together a complete list. If I have missed any, let me know. What is your overall favorite campaign setting?
For official settings it’s hands down Eberron. I love the steampunk noir Cold War vibes of the setting and the fact WotC have never tried rebooting it like they have other settings when editions changed means theres 20 years of useable stuff for it. I also love the way Keith Baker writes his setting guides and find it really gets my creativity going in a way that other setting guides don’t.
For third party (you didn’t ask but I’m telling you anyway) my favourite has to be Drakkenheim from the Dungeon Dudes. It’s a really solid Eldritch horror setting with some wonderfully designed monsters (their monster Manual is one of my favourites for any campaign) but also has some solid and well thought out politics underpinning it if you wanted to include that sort of thing in a campaign
Speaking only for me, I really like the lore, history, and depth of the Forgotten Realms.
Add to that, the fact that Ed Greenwood is still writing content and adding to the world, it is constantly growing :)

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
Planescape all the way. It's the main reason I stuck with DnD all these years since 2e and why I came back to 5e when they relaunched it. It actually surprises me it's at 10% in the poll together with Ravenloft. I didn't realize it was so popular here. They should give it to an official third party publisher who understands and respects the material like they're doing with the other settings.
My fan fic setting is objectively the best, as voted by me, because it has everything I like and nothing I don’t like. Your fan fic setting is also the best as voted by me, because it has everything you like, and nothing you don’t like. But I probably won’t play your fanfic since I’m pretty busy playing mine; but we both know ours are the best ones. (buddy thumbs up)

Have to go with Greyhawk. I started playing in 1982 so it holds a nostalgic place in my gaming heart
Don't have a preference because I'm not into "team" discussions in fandoms.
DM, player & homebrewer(Current homebrew project is an unofficial conversion of SBURB/SGRUB from Homestuck into DND 5e)
Once made Maxwell's Silver Hammer come down upon Strahd's head to make sure he was dead.
Always study & sharpen philosophical razors. They save a lot of trouble.
