It's explicitly stated to be for the regular WoW, not Classic. I'm guessing Forever would be lumped with Classic as a side game, rather than the main product.
Well, the codebase for Forever is actually closer to Retail than it is Classic, and when this book was announced, Forever was not even a product. So that was why I crossed my fingers, but yes, like I said, guessing it probably doesnt work and instead is for retail.
i also got an email saying my physical book shipped.. would i sound crazy to suspect they did it to make the orders unable to be canceled after not sending the codes as advertised? willing to accept i might just be pessimistic... but... lol
They seem to have changed the text to November 17th:
===
Digital Pre-order Bonus: Icy Throne Digital Dice Set, Horde & Alliance Character Sheet Backgrounds & Frames, and D&D Encounters: Season of Champions mini adventure, and a code for World of Warcraft® in-game items delivered via email with purchase of the physical and digital bundle*
*Requires a Battle.net account and an active World of Warcraft® subscription and license to redeem the included in-game items. Not compatible with World of Warcraft® Classic. Codes will be delivered by email registered to D&D Beyond account on November 17, 2026.

Yep, they quietly changed it late last night to say the 17th instead of the 3rd on the website. That's pretty shady, to not even reply to the questions and change their product description AFTER people paid, and pretend as if the product description always said that.
Will be warning others in the future not to trust dndbeyond's product descriptions because they are known to change them after people already paid.
Yeah definitely won't be purchasing from them in the future. Still haven't had a single response from CS and then they do this. What freaking joke dude. They couldn't be bothered to at least email customers?
Changing the description date to the 17th for the codes release date after many people purchased is wild. Definitely won't be purchasing from DnD Beyond again.

Wow. so they didnt send out the codes as advertised, stayed completely silent, then CHANGED the terms after the fact???
Let me guess, now all of our unanswered tickets will be met with "it states codes go out on the 17th" while they pretend they never changed it.
So I was right. they totally marked this not-yet-released product as "shipped" purely to stop people from cancelling their order after being lied to. Add me onto the list, I will never be a customer of theirs again
"Thank you all for flagging this, and I'm sorry. This one's on us. The D&D Beyond Marketplace product page said the WoW in-game codes would be sent on November 3. That date was wrong, and we should have caught it. The codes will go out on November 17, and we're correcting the page to match.
I know it's frustrating to wait months, to see friends already showing off the mount, and to get slow answers on your tickets. We're sorry for all of that. Your tickets are still open, and you don't need to do anything. If the codes haven't arrived by the end of day on the 17th (remember we're on Pacific time!), reply here or on your ticket and we'll make it right."
Not sure why we have to pretend it was a little oopsie and completely disregard the broken purchase agreement with zero compensation while in the same post acknowledging the other people who actually got theirs
So they publicly explained they made a mistake, took ownership of it, and corrected the store listing so the wrong information wouldn't be there anymore?
Good.
Waiting a few more days for some digital whatsits is not a big deal.
I was expecting it would be understood that the issue here is about the precedent being set (advertising a product a particular way, not delivering on it, then explaining what happened with questionable honesty) and not about digital whatsits, but...
It would be good for them to take ownership of a mistake if that happened, but I'm not at all convinced their excuse is true. I'm open to believing that it is but seeing as plenty of people got their codes on the 3rd it is very much looking like it wasn't actually a mistake and the codes were meant to be sent then. So the one singular reddit comment is already questionable at best in terms of a proper and honest publication of their mistake. I'd think that is agreeable, at least.
But, personal misgivings and faith aside! Let's say all the people who got their codes on the 3rd are lying and didn't actually get them (which is common, really), and the people with the reward in-game must have just lucked out with an early physical shipment or something. And in this world, yeah they truly did just publish the wrong date on their purchase agreement. I still would not agree that a single CS reddit comment of questionable truth is acceptable as public or taking ownership. Especially when the best anyone has gotten back from support is "ummm yeah youll get it eventually probably it takes a while sometimes" without mentioning the supposed incorrect advertisement (well, until they changed it, that is). Surely the technology of today is capable of even just a simple email to those who purchased before the "fix" that would notify them about what happened. But that won't happen because for a totally unpredictable mystery reason they don't want people to know about it. My issue and the issue at large is not the promo items themselves. I hope this explains it in a more helpful way (speaking genuinely).
All that said, I'm sure there's just a missing puzzle piece that would explain everything and make it make sense. After all we are talking about companies that are well-loved and celebrated for their consumer-friendly history (especially lately).
I subscribe to Hanlon's Razor. Never assume malice when something can be just as easily explained as stupidity. So I'm not especially convinced that we should be ascribing nefarious intent for something that's easily explained as an oopsie.

that's the funny part in my order history there is nothing but i have the emails to prove i ordered it......
Joining the "Still haven't gotten my code" club. Checked every single folder in my email, and nothing.
Did you change the filter on the order history? The default is 3 months, I had to set to 6 months to see my order.
Nothing here either :/. Got an email this morning again, but it was that the physical book shipped. Which doesn’t really make any sense either XD
If you ordered the $120 buddle the code comes with the physical book, but the $80 bundle said it would just go to our emails.

The launch hasn't happened yet. We are in early access. Launch is Nov 17.
From the DDB ordering page...
Nevermind, the customers will do it for them
