I just got into D&D and I'm super excited, I just started making a character named Beur who is a half-elf and a level one bard. Beur was abandoned by her village and elf mother when it was found out that she was a half-elf. She worked as a conwoman for a while and got really good at it. Now she travels the world and is slowly piecing together the mystery as to why her human father left her mother before Beur was born.
Her words to live by are "If you can't go home why not enjoy the freedoms of not having one?"
Beur is funny, creative, passionate, and always very calm and cool.

Amazing Character for your first time, most of us just had Pyro-Klepto-Megalomaniac murder hobos with no backstory, have fun with this char!
I want to play a Peace Cleric 1 / Divination Wizard X Knight of the Order Kalishtar. The twist is that rather than RPing as the Kalishtar, I want to RP as an oracle Quori who took over the body of a Kalishtar when it nearly died in a freak accident in order to heal it. They did this because the Kalishtar was fated to ensure a specific party member survived long enough to change the path of history in a critical moment in the future.
A halfling warrior who is lazy even by halfling standards and rides a giant turtle into combat....very slowly. His goal is basically to get there when it's over...
My sister and I want to play a pair of sibling changelings who were called back home to inherit a set of personas from an aging parent with dementia. Once home we would be asked to take over the role of protecting a secret community of changelings living in a large "hotel" from being discovered by a prejudiced city population. The fun would come from swapping personas back and forth on the fly.
Centaur Valor Bard that performs with tap dancing while wearing horse shoes. Also runs a traveling troupe named, "Centaurtainment." Obvious name: Big Ed
Tortle Storm Sorcerer. Name: Shell Shock
Stout Halfling Rune Knight with a height complex. Name: Napoleon Stoneapart
Kenku Chronurgy Wizard. Name: Rewind (this build gets really fun when trying to learn verbal components for spells).
A Yuan-ti prodigy from a tribal family that won a scholarship to a prominent Wizard School where they chose to major in Conjuration with a special emphasis on teleportation. Name: Snakes on Many Planes
A Loxodon Eagle Totem Barbarian that rages when he thinks about his enslaved mother. He is accompanied by a wildly insensitive and inappropriate Kenku Whisper Bard that is jealous of his flight. These two eventaul resolve their differences and go on to incorrectly inform many generations on what friendship, boundaries, and understanding should look like. Names: Flumbo and Pandy.
A Changling Enchantment Wizard who travels the land Tyler Durdening shop keepers until they find their true life purpose and quit their job to be kept safe from "murder-hobo adventurers." Name: (they never tell)
A Devil's Tongue Variant Tiefling Oath of Redemption Paladin that has lost her way. Skills needed: intimidate and deception. Really good for a BBEG. Name: Karen
A Tabaxi Ranger with Vehicles Land, Cartography tools, handle animal, perception, and history. Runs a caravan business called "Tabaxi Taxi." Name: Sal.
Rogue Barbarian, ultimate viking, due to the RAW, Reckless Attack works with Sneak Attack due to Sneak only needing Finesse but not attacking with Dexterity
But yea, ultimate viking, pillaging and also sneaking when needed
Perhaps, but Vikings as a whole were fairly skilled in many categories, I don't know much about Floki due to, ya know, not watching the show nor researching his historical counterpart, but I definitely think a Sword and Board or even Dual Shortswords would be a devastating combo for that Reckless Surprise Attack (as I call it)
If your dm asks you to justify it, say something like you throw the opponent off guard with your ferocity, because some DMs ask for justification in-character for things that seem meta-game-y and don't seem to work, Sneak Attack is just a Surprise Attack rather than a specifically sneaking attack, since you only need advantage, which is gained when your opponent is fighting literally anyone else, but yea
I have a human variant bard by the name of Alfonzo. The catch is he is a depressed clown with the actor and the far traveler background. He has 9 skill proficiencies and has a plus seven to all charisma based skills except performance which is a plus nine.
A caster who's not a Bard who sings all verbal components of any spell.
I'm curious to know what a Warlock version of this would be.
A caster who's spell somatic component is always a middle finger.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
One of my favorite characters was Wall. A barbarian 3 (totem warrior) fighter x (battlemaster) who dual wielded two spiked great shields. The point of this character was to optimize as much as possible (which I know isnt fun, but I did have permission from the dm beforehand and it wasnt overly broken). I was trying to max out my AC as much as possible. However, I didnt use adamantite because crit hits are the only way you could hit Wall with a physical attack and I didnt wanna be too busted. I just wanted the number. By the time we ended the campaign at level 11, Wall was a Barb 5 Fighter 6 with 45 armor class. We had a few encounters with mind flayers and that hurt, but otherwise, very fun. The party was a good sport about it, and we had a blast with wall, especially after developing a personality like that of a 3rd grader

I love roleplaying, message me so we can set something up.
I talk everything D&D, message me for questions, chat, arguements, or roleplay!
A caster whose spell focus is a sheep's stomach stuffed with common animal-based and plant-based material components for spells. The focus has been boiled and grilled. The caster also eats it on long trips and prepares a new one after eating. It's the caster's magical haggis.
(I knew I'd figure out a material version of the previous two eventually.)

A goliath draconic bloodline sorcerer who hates the source of his abilities, but enjoys the power they bring.
A dhampir grave or redemption paladin who wants to convince people that not all of his species is bad.
A vengeance paladin that wants vengeance against a past version of themselves.
A kuo-toa (not an actual race, but it would be fun) warlock that gets their power from a patron they invented.

Mystic v3 should be official, nuff said.

I've never been drawn to Palidins, but this I like. Well done.

You know there are nilbogs as monsters, right?

One I'm planning for my next character:
A classic pirate... but with the entertainer background...
They're not actually a pirate, they just got lost wearing the costume and now have to bluff it out.
Some of my favourite's i've come up with.
A true neutral warforged druid of spores created from a tree by the forrest itself, who now acts as a protector of nature.
An arrogant reborn Bard who was cursed to undeath after he shamed a hag. He must now seek redemption and aid others in order to get his body back.
A kenku who was the former assistant of a linguist, who is now on a quest to discover every single word.
A cowardly paladin, chosen by a god of war for a purpose they do not understand.
A muter wizard/sorcerer, that communicates through sign language, and cannot use verbal components.
A warlock patron of one of the other players in the group.
I have one or two.
