I would be sacrificing 5th level spells for a 2nd level warlock. And the character (bard of lore) has an 18 dex. While it is an awesome idea I might have to safe it :(. But warlocks are one of those classes where it's best if you take 3 or maybe even 5 levels instead of a single. Fighters can be used a lot, defense is awesome if you're not a monk, two weapon fighting is cool for druids who use scimitars and have good dex, re rolling a 1 or 2 on a two handed weapon can be insanely powerful if the dice favor you. My DM's reaction to it when I showed it to him was "Meh". But with a speed +1 great axe on a raging barbarian, he is gonna regret his reaction if my little brother takes just 1 level of fighter! ^^
The main reason for warlock so your CHA your main stats but with such high dex the charm of combing it with warlock drops.
If you go for the bard(dex) /wizard you orignal proposed it maybe better to singleclass instead there feats/spell acces scale pretty well. if you ever reach lvl20 you might wanna take a lvl 1 in shadow sorcerer instead the bard capstone. But lvl 20 might never happend.
Yeah I'm soon of too do my own thing so our game could fall apart or continue. But it is a family thing so hopefully we can carry it further than level 14. My goal is for level 17. Because many groups fail a level 5 or 14 I heard. So I wanna at least try to get it to a good high level ^^.
Every party needs a healer though. I know you said you were going to stay away from cleric as they are too close to druid but there are so many gods out there and a different personality/build for each one. One of my favorite clerics is a cleric of War (Tempus) that is always itching for a fight. She/he believes things need to be settled/decided that way. My first one came into the party late. Before he joined he found the party walking around town and picked a fight with them. This long knock-down-drag-out fight ensued. He had to make sure they weren't pacifists =D. It just makes for good RP.
Yeah but I still feel like I would end up in the same position. My DM said: "If you want to fight and cast spells you should be a cleric! There is this god: <insert elven forest god>" And suggested that I played a wood elf. If it wasn't over text I would've hurt my eyes rolling so hard. I just said that druid isn't what I'm looking for and then he thinks it would be a good idea to play a ******* cleric of a nature god with the ******* useless excuse of a domain to a cleric. xD I'm a little pissed at the moment for a different reason entirely but I wanted to stay away from divine magic as far as I could. But I did think about playing an oathbreaker or a grave domain cleric. But I don't really wanna be the healer. And I have too so... xD
