Does anyone know how big the battle maps for their battle royals were? My group is thinking about doing one as a 1-off and it's difficult to figure out a good size for one.

Hey y'all, I'm Okashido and I'm super into D&D. I like making characters(to the point where I have a doc about 100 pages long filled with character ideas.), am an aspiring actor in college, and also consider myself a storyteller and actor at the table. I enjoy making characters with backstories and watching them play off of other people. I roll with the punches and am a great Improviser. I can DM, but think my strengths lay in being a Player most. Hope we can all have fun and maybe play some games.
Any idea on how high up it was? I remember it was very vague as nobody really tested the height limit??

From what I remember it required a movement + dash to get from the doors at the bottom to the roof. Considering stairs inside, running on the floors inside and climbing the ladder out, 40-50 foot sounds about right.
Alright, sounds fair. So a map around 100/130 feet with a height somewhere around 40 to 50 feet high.

Based on this image, it looks like the arena is 20x30 squares, with each square representing 5'

Just make it as tall as you think is appropriate. 40 feet sounds good to me. You may want it taller depending on the movement options of the party.
