Does anyone know why Mr. Gygax, way back in the day, decided to make the medusa and the gorgon separate and distinct monsters? In Grecian myth, Medusa was a gorgon (along with Stheno and Euryale), and I'm not entirely sure where the poison-puking metal bull came from. Was this just artistic liberty or some different part of Greek mythology I'm not aware of?
