I went to my inventory to add some potions of healing to my inventory and the only ones listed with the potions filter on and "heal" typed into search was:
potion of healing (greater)
potion of healing (superior)
potion of healing (supreme)
It wasn't until I turned off the potions filter that potion of healing showed up which means potion of healing isn't a potion?
The normal potion of healing is a potion, but it is also considered basic adventuring gear. DDB isn't coded to filter items that belong in 2 categories like that.
I ran into the same thing myself. A 50gp magical brew is hardly basic gear when you are starting out.
That was my first reaction. But it's not about whether healing potions are 'common' or should be included in common gear kits or anything. It's just that, in the rules of the game, the normal healing potion is found not under Magical Items but under Equipment. So when they program this site, they decided to put everything from the Equipment list into the Equipment category, even though this one thing is a magical item.
But the Equipment list also includes casting focuses, which are debatably magical items. Poison is also on the list, which typically isn't something the average adventurer carries around. So our complaint isn't with where D&DB puts it, but that it shouldn't be on the Equipment list in the first place. :)

This sounds like a bug, might want to post in the bug forum so the right team sees it sooner

When is a door not a door? When it's ajar.
Same for potions.

Looking for new subclasses, spells, magic items, feats, and races? Opinions welcome :)
I think it is to draw emphasis on the fact that potions of healing should be available for sale even in campaigns where magic items are not sold.
And on a price argument, many armors cost over 100gp and are also equipment.
the Door is ajar?
WHAT KINDA CRAZY MAGIC IS THIS!!!
My bet... Transmutation
