I am brewing a type of magic called "Archive Magic."
Those people who use Archive Magic, can use it to cast and unlimited nunber of any level spell that they have stored in their archive, for the duration the archive interface is open.
This would obviously work better using the variant spell point system rather than spell slots, as the player expends a certain number of spell points to keep the interface open for a certain length of time - allowing them to cast their stored spells or retrieve any stored information.
Does DDB support spell points, because I can't see how to switch from using spell slots to using spell points.
I want to use the vitality variant of the spell point system, because Archive Magic is so powerful, that, I want to balance it by making its use physically, and not just mentally draining.
Short answer: no, DDB really only supports the standard spell slots.
Longer answer: sorta? I may not fully grasp what you are wanting, but it sounds like you want to brew a caster class that has a feature that allows "free" casting for a duration. I would model that as something like Channel Divinity: (x) uses per rest (short or long, whatever your intent), lasts for a duration (probably somewhere between 1 minute & 1 hour), may require concentration (I definitely would if it's as powerful as you say), and allows casting of known spells freely while active (without expending slots).

One way you can kind of use spell points on DDB is to remember the point to slot values and use slots equal to the value of spell points.
Thanks for your replies everyone. I'm a little disappointed that I can't use spell points. Do any of you know if there is any plans to let us do this?
