When I click the Initiative button from Char Sheet Roll20 Asks a question about a modifier. is there any way to get rid of that? Or make it just roll default Initiative?
Beyond20 is no longer working for me. I've cleared my cache and removed and re-installed the extension a few times to no avail. As you can see in the image below anytime I try and adjust settings the options are completely grayed out and I can't change them at all. I can still roll skills but they roll as character "null" as you can see here.
Please advise what you think I should do to get the extension working again.
EDIT: Seems to only affect character sheets, I can roll just fine from monster stat blocks, and also seems to have some interaction with my dndbeyond account. I can open any character sheet in an incognito window and roll attacks or skills from that sheet while not logged into my account and it works perfectly. As soon as I log in in the incognito window it stops working again.
EDIT 2: Everything seems to be working perfectly now. I didn't try anything since my last update but when I woke up this morning my ability to change settings and actually roll using the extension is back in order.
@Eriksson: I'm not sure what question or modifier it asks. Unless you have a custom roll formula in your Beyond20 settings. Please provide a screenshot, maybe if I know what you're referring to, I can help.
@TigerApricot: D&D Beyond are currently progressively testing a new character sheet layout for their users, they seem to set it and remove it from random accounts as things are being tested. Beyond20 had stopped working because of that, but now it's good since they reverted you back to the non-alpha character sheet.
Early on, using incognito window was the workaround because the 'has alpha sheet' seems to be tied to your account, so as long as you're not logged in, you would not see the alpha sheet layout. If it happens again, the development version of Beyond20 should work fine, though I'm getting ready to release today an update to Beyond20 which makes it support the new sheet, so you should be all good in the future.
Beyond20 wasn't working for one of my fellow players last night, and it had been the week before. I'll bet they'd switched him to the alpha sheet. I didn't realize it was being removed again at random too. Good to know, but a huge pain for those of us using it to play on Roll20 during this pandemic. We are already struggling a bit being new to the platform. Just crappy timing since we found Beyond20 to be a fantastic tool rather than fighting with character sheets in Roll20 directly.
He said the red dice were missing on the sheet itself this week, and only visible and working on the pop-out side panel. The Beyond20 control panel options were all greyed out.
Glad to see that you're already on it and rolling out an update - thank you!
I too am having issues with DNDBeyond/Roll20 character sheets working together. I can do skill checks and the Beyond20 red die iconappears and works. But when i attempt to do a weapon attack, there is no Beyond20 red die icon to click. As a result I can't do any attacks through DnDBeyond. What works works great. Hope this is fixed. Thanks!
Hey everyone. I'm planning a release later today. I might take time before it hits the chrome store though as they usually manually review every update.
If that seems too complicated, please use an incognito window in which you are not logged in, and roll from that one. Keep the logged in regular window open so you can change your HP or spell slots as needed. Don't forget to go to the chrome extensions details (right click on the beyond20 icon and select 'Manage extensions') and enable the "Allow in incognito" option.
Beyond20 v1.1 has just been released and it should work now, so yeay!
@Koren: I wanted to delay a bit in case it's a moving target, but I don't think it is. I'm sure they'll change things again in the future and I'll have to adapt, but for now, I believe that it should be fine for the time being. I also did take some precautions in case some things changed more than they already have, but I was told by one of their devs that there shouldn't be any more major breaking changes for me with their new sheet update.
For two weapon fighting, you'd need to use D&D Beyond's support for it directly. Click 'customize' on the weapon from D&D Beyond's side panel, then enable two weapon fighting. The attack will move to the bonus actions section for use as a second attack, and it won't add the ability modifier (unless you have special feats or fighting styles that do allow you to add the modifier).
I don't see an extra box, but I AM curious why initiative isn't rolled directly from the character sheet like most other things are. Instead, you need to click on that, then the side bar opens up the initiative section and the red Beyond20 box to roll is in there. Shouldn't you be able to click right on the Init box on the sheet?
Riught, the D&D Beyond sidebar might the "Extra box" they were referring to.
Beyond20 at its core is and has always been about rolling from that sidebar. The ability to roll directly from the sheet by hovering and clicking on the modifiers is the "Quick rolls" feature (can be disabled in options), which I hadn't realized just how popular it would be when I added it. Seems some people think that's the natural way Beyond20 is used.
The sidebar is fundamental for Beyond20 because that's what contains the actual information I need to parse in order to know what the rolls/modifiers/damages are.
That being said, no, there is no reason why I can't have it working for initiative too. It was just not something I had thought of when I added the quick rolls feature.
Thanks for the response, it does help to see some of the reasoning behind how it all works. I did indeed think the Quick Roll stuff was the base functionality. That said, I do appreciate you taking the suggestion under consideration!
So I was experimenting with this Extension last week on my Surface and was getting the blank rolls on my page (Now I have fixed that by setting my character sheets to the DND 5E by Roll20) but now on my main PC it is saying that it can't detect a VTT when I have Roll20 open and running. What am I doing wrong?
Riught, the D&D Beyond sidebar might the "Extra box" they were referring to.
I guess the "box" some folks are talking about is a box that shows up inside Roll20 after clicking in the Roll Initiative from DnD Beyond. The popup box asks if it's Normal Roll, Advantage, Disadvantage, Super Advantage and Super Disadvantage.
It is showing to me as well. And I have no idea how to remove it. I have search on Roll20 settings and had no success.
Edit: I've created an issue on GitHub and attached a print.

In your Beyond20 settings the third one down is type of roll (advantage/disadvantage) you can change the setting there if you don't want the prompt in Roll20.
Is there good instructions for using Beyond20? Most of the things are pretty self explanatory, but I'm trying to figure out how to do disadvantage, for stealth checks, for example... Also, how to do Bardic inspiration...
thanks!

same issue here. Despite that, the extension works for me expect on weapon attacks. No Beyond20 attack button exist for that.

You can use the development version in the meantime : https://github.com/kakaroto/Beyond20#developer-mode-installation

Thanks for the quick turnaround in response to the character sheet alpha. Do you foresee it being a moving target as they continue to make changes?

Hi !
Awesome works on integration, i'm using it all the time, it's really great.
Is there any way to deal with Two-Weapon Fighting (Second attack without ability modifier).
Thanks.
@dmnmn: Thanks!
For two weapon fighting, you'd need to use D&D Beyond's support for it directly. Click 'customize' on the weapon from D&D Beyond's side panel, then enable two weapon fighting. Is there a way when rolling initiative to skip that box that always pops up asking for modifier?
What box that pops up? There shouldn't be one, unless you have a custom modifier macro set in the settings.
I don't see an extra box, but I AM curious why initiative isn't rolled directly from the character sheet like most other things are. I've created an issue to keep track of it : https://github.com/kakaroto/Beyond20/issues/198
