I am currently playing a warlock under the old god patron. My goal is to invest 17 levels into warlock to fully upgrade the eldrich blast and rest into sorcerer to get meta magic. What sorcerer origin should I pick that would be the most useful for me?
We are going to need a bit more information than "I'm going to have a lvl 17 Warlock" which spells are you aiming at, what invocations wold you grab. Any feats you plan on taking?
You could also do shadow magic sorcerer for contacting the dark reaches of the far realm (technically shadow magic is shadowfell). Or divine soul (chaotic neutral).
My main attack is eldrich blast. I'm going for a spell sniper and my other abilities will be summoning abilities or utilities. I want to stay as far from the fighting as possible.
Wild magic is fun, and allows you to get advantage on critical spell roll, storm soul gives some flight, celestial gives you an expanded spell list, though getting bless/cure wounds at lvl 17 sounds a bit meh, even if you can cast them trough your warlock slots. Giant Soul makes you sturdier and adds a few spells, even if you don't want to fight front line, more HP is always good (it's unearthed arcana though, check with your dm). Shadow Magic fits thematically, but offers less goodstuff, warlocks have an easy way of getting darkvision themselves and using it to see in Magical darkness... Draconic is again becoming tougher and adds a damage resistance. Hexblade not an option for you because you want to stay away from things, which is more than ok.
Are you getting the 17 warlock lvls first? Because in that case, whatever Sorcerer origins have to offer you sounds a bit underwhelming...
" The Shadow Monarch is the ultimate expression of a "One Man Army" even in a team Setting his minions would act as meat shields for the allies while going on the Offensive, maybe in future version I will develop tactics and formations for the minions so the minions and party won't easily be decimated by random monsters or even the character's current enemies."
Divine Soul Sorcerer so you can Bless yourself to improve your Eldritch Blast attack rolls although it does require concentration and you may want that for Hex. You could use it for healing, however, and Aid increases your hit points without needing concentration and if you use your pact slot that's 20 Hit Points for you and 2 allies every short rest! Spiritual Weapon will be useful too to get more out of your bonus actions. You will also get a free spell and once per short or long rest you can add 2d4 on a missed attack roll or failed saving throw possibly turning it into success which is pretty nice for a blaster build. If you're in a tough fight and want to use your concentration more defensively then access to Shield of Faith for extra AC can be very good at helping to survive. Distant Spell healing word, can bring enemies back into the fight even if they drop on the other side of the battlefield without having to endanger yourself by getting closer. Blasting the enemy with Eldritch Blast then casting Sanctuary can also be a useful tactic of maintaining offense and defense, although costly in resources (but Font of Magic from Sorc will help with that).

I was looking to do the same thing. First and foremost WHY do you want to multiclass? I'm primarily going warlock & was looking to go 3-5 into divine sorcerer. My reasons were as follows:
1)Yea the main reason was the meta magic. Particularly quicken. 2x eldritch blast is great.
2) cleric spell list - great to heal myself/party in a pinch.
3) Expanded spell list - sorc list gave me access to shocking grasp. Chromatic orb, chaos bolt & dragon's breathe (to give to my familiar).
4) expanded spell slots - going up to lv 5 in sorc would give me 9 assorted slots. Perfect for utility spells or minor ones. Heck of a lot better than 2. Even if they're maxed.
5) extra cantrips - always useful & sorc gives +4 at lv1.
6) I like mire the mind (slow spell) but got REALLY peeved that it costs a warlock spell slot AND once getting your pact magic to 4 & 5 I feel that you're 'wasting' them on an un-upcastable 3rd lvl spell AND if I decided to go sorc 5 I could've gotten slow AND haste AND I could twin haste.
7) the divine feature to reroll 2d4 once per short rest on a miss is nice.
After having ALLLLLLLLLL these reasons, my warlock is level 4 and I most likely will take 5th into warlock because multiclassing with spellcasters is SO annoying. 5th level is when I get my 3rd invocation, when I learn 3rd level spells (& pact magic increases too & when I can record 3rd level ritual spells.
The biggest question with multiclassing with spellcasters is 'when'. Is it worth it to lag behind 3 levels in spells and other class progressions? Then the question is how much do you want to lag behind? Do you REALLY only want to go 3 into sorc? You *only* get about 6 spell slots up to lvl 2 spells but you only get 3 sorcery points. That's nothing. 1 quickened EB per short rest. So do you go to lv 4 in sorc? You might as well go get that ASI... but since you're already 4 you *may* as well get to 5 to get 3rd level spell slots (and the haste AND slow spells) - or at least this was my thought process.. and bam you're 5 into sorc which means 5 less (or slower) into lock... okay you're willing to take the dip and the level dip.. but now the question is 'when'? Do you take your 4th into sorc (lock 3 then next into sorc) do you go 4th into warlock to get the ASI then 5th into sorc? But you're SO close to lv5 to get those sweet upgrades... even if you do decide when, what do you do now? Do you go straight 4 lock then 4 sorc? Do you alternate? 1, 1, 2, 2 etc? But again, you're 'main' spell caster will be majorly lagging behind... and if you wait until 17th level, taking your 18, 19, 20th into sorc.... first off, sure dream big.. but statistically most campaigns dont go beyond lv 10 or so... secondly, at that point why bother? At that level you can change worlds... what's 3 measly levels into LOW sorcerer stats going to give you? Its not worth it at all.
So honestly multiclassing as a spellcaster (2 no less) is EXTREMELY annoying so think long and hard about IF it's worth it and WHEN would it be worth it because I'M still deciding what I want to do with MY warlock. And I listed you almost 10 reasons to DO so
By the way if you're strictly interested in quickened eldritch blast "trick"... cuz honestly that's the main and first reason I was interested... if that is your biggest reason then consider looking into the bracers of illusion.. it allows you to repeat the casting of your cantrip casted as an action as a bonus action. BOOM. 2x eldritch blast and no sorcery point cost so its unlimited.
Unlike multiclassing, you dont have control over this, which would rely on your DM giving it to you, and its a very rare quality so you wouldn't be getting it soon any way but it may be better to look into as it costs ZERO strain on your class.
PS - still taking advice on my own warlock/sorcerer progression :)

Wild Magic could thematically fit with Old One warlock, with the whole unpredictable nature meets unfathomable will

I would suggest looking into the " Shadow Magic " Bloodline, you would be surprised at the synergy between it and your patron choice.
Because its only 3 lvls the synergy is limited, but you will enjoy the extra spells and the self ressurection thing from shadow.
