If I edit a character sheet for a player in my campaign, do they know that I have changed it? Is there a notification sent or anything? What if I want to do an edit for them to "discover" in game?

What if I want to do an edit for them to "discover" in game?
What I would do is take an IRL break for whatever reason, make the change, and upon returning to the narrative say to the player, "You feel as though something about yourself has changed, though you have yet to discover what it is." Or something along those lines.
I've done changes without telling my players. Most often it's exp. Sometimes it's a magic item that I haven't done a write up for yet. They get a little excited when "blue glowing stone" turns into "sapphire of knockback."

As far as I know there is no notification in Roll20. You'll have to let them know.
Hello GorillaGamer96,
There is no notification or log when an edit is made on a character sheet on D&D Beyond.
What I would do is take an IRL break for whatever reason, make the change, and upon returning to the narrative say to the player, "You feel as though something about yourself has changed, though you have yet to discover what it is." Or something along those lines.
