Hey I was wondering if there was a way to change the base damage of a weapon in the magic item creator. I ask because I got a Magic Long Sword in our game last session that dose a d 10 when used one handed, and a d12 when used 2 handed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You're probably best off just making custom attacks on your character sheet for it, rather than making an item. You can add the versatile trait to a weapon, but I don't think you can change a weapons innate die.
You could also "fake" this directly on the digital character sheet. Click on the sword in the equipment tab/section and click Customize on the flyout pane. Put a 2 in the Damage Bonus box. It will show up as:
1d8 + 2 1d10 + 2
It's not changing the base damage, but the end results are the same (except if you are using it for 2 hand fighting I suppose you'd need to remember that the +2 is actually base damage and not a modifier).
Increasing the die one step is the equivalent, on average, of a +1.
But just because things are the same on average does not mean they're the same.

Basically, you can't yet. Homebrew base weapon damage is planned for future development.
Four years and we still don't got it. At this point I think we can forget about it. After all this is WOTC. Honestly just roll separately for CWs and keep their damage in the notes of the weapon.

Actually it’s not. It’s DDB which is not part of WotC. But you are correct that it has been a long time but changes keep coming slowly but surely.

Adding a +2 is not the same as going from a d8 to a d10.
You'd have to create a Glaive and give it Versatile, and Ignore Weapon Property - Heavy and Ignore Weapon Property - Reach.
Although it will still say "proficiency with a glaive blah blah" it will show a 1d10 one handed 1d12 two-handed damage code on your sheet.
