I'm building a sorcerer subclass that can essentially take damage in order to gain sorcery points, deal more damage or look cool. I'm adding on to my level 14 ability the option to sacrifice the character in order to deal damage or disable enemies in a last ditch effort, and I can't decide how much damage a life would be worth, either to a single target or to a group of enemies in an area around the character. Any suggestions?
Maybe go with level 8 fireball damage (13d6, 20ft radius) as radiant or necrotic or something else based on theme. Choose targets (so don't nuke team) and still have a save, but you can change save type.
