If I‘m reading the spell book section correct from the wizard. They cannot copy non-wizard spells into their spell books even if they have a scroll to copy it from?
My group misinterpreted this rule at first and played for 2 years before we realized. We just kept going with wizards being able to only pick spells from their list on level up, but can copy all spells if they find the appropriate scroll or spellbook etc. We figure its a fine house rule since the DM ultimately decides which spells PC's find anyway.
That said I have a wizard from a dragon heist game with a second group that is being played RAW on this and he is still ridiculously good to have with you in a tight spot.

Sir Raffen
Correct. It must be on the appropriate Spell List, unless a feat or some other feature allows them to copy spells from other lists to their books.
Correct.
