I’m using magic initiate on a rogue at level one with no armor equipped. I click on the “use” and use up the resource, however I don’t see the armor class on the character change. Is there something I need to do, or is that something I have to change manually.
You can create a magic item, set to Artifact, name it Mage Armor Toggle, and use a modifier to increase the unarmoured defence by 3. So, when you use the spell go to your inventory and the item will be at very top, click the box to "equip" it and your AC will change. Unequip for the AC to go back to normal when the spell ends.
If you have Hero tier subscription you can add homebrew from other people. There is one already made by SpasmThatCat which you can find here. You can add this to save having to make it yourself.
I recommend checking their homebrew here - they have a lot of these for adding temporary spell effects to your character. If you add it and find it useful please upvote it so people know it's good.

As far as I know, temporary "buffs" are not shown on the character sheet.
You will have to track them yourself.
Huh, alright thanks. I can always do that, just seemed odd that there was no “active spell” listing and it didn’t update that.
Oh well, I did it on my own on paper, I can be less lazy than I was hoping to be :)
It is on their long-term feature road map, though. :-)
So maybe in a year or two they will add this feature. :D
